The Flamme de la Liberté, or Liberty Flame, is a full-sized, gold-leaf-covered replica of the flame of the torch from the Statue of Liberty. It is located in Paris, near the Place de l’Alma.
This monument was presented to the city of Paris in 1989 as a symbol of the Franco-American friendship.
Interestingly, the Flame of Liberty has become most well-known as a stele or commemorative monument as a tribute to Princess Diana after her death (EuroTouring).
